It's a glorious summer in the mountains! We have poured our hearts into this cabin and are excited to share our little mountain getaway with guests like you. Everyone deserves to enjoy the all season fun the Donner Summit area has to offer.
Expect tons of charm (and lots of knotty pine!) in this rustic, "old Kingvale" cabin. Accommodates 4-6 comfortably (though it can sleep up to 9 people). Situated conveniently near the freeway but feels like the backcountry. It's the best of both worlds!
The space
It's sunny and glorious in the Donner Summit area. The rivers are swimmable, and air temperatures are cool but summery. Break out of the heat and enjoy some fun in the mountains, rivers, and lush forests.
Donner Lake is only 10 min away for swimming, paddle-boarding, kayaking or waterskiing and there is ample hiking and mountain biking trails, climbing routes and bouldering sites all throughout the area. The Yuba River (running right behind the cabins across from us) and the Pacific Coast Trail runs through this area also for some scenic hiking and refreshing cold plunge swimming.
